Last updated: august 2004 The CompanyLuftech is a metallurgic industry that produces environmental equipments in steel for solid waste, sewage and gas treatment. Through its consultancy, services and industry departments Luftech finds solutions for different environmental problems. The technology is constantly being actualized through research projects in partnership with universities and other institutions in Brazil and Germany. Founded in 1992, Luftech has installed over 130 waste incinerators, gas cleaners and sewage treatment plants in South America, in airports, hospitals, cities, industries and service providers. As recognition to its work, Luftech has received the TOP HOSPITALAR award six times, as well as other awards. PartnershipsLuftech is constantly researching and developing its technologies in a joint effort with several partners, among whose are universities, institutions and enterprises from Brazil and Germany.
If you are interested in a partnership with Luftech or need more information, please contact us at Este endereço de e-mail está protegido contra spambots. We are interested in partners from the environmental area that want to enter the brazilian market through a joint-venture or other kind of partnership. We are also interested in licensing our technology in other countries, specially in Africa and Asia. EquipmentsIncineratorsThe garbage incinerators produced by Luftech follow the german technology of Combined Gasification and Combustion (CGC), developed for nuclear wastes of a german Research Center. This technology allows a cleaner burning using the garabage as fuel, and no aditional fuel is needed. The main benefit of this tecnology is to offer a good enrivonmental performance at a low costs. In the equipment the waste is first dryed, then gasified in an oxigen-poor environment, forming CO (carbon monoxide) and CHx (small carbon molecules) gases, that will be the fuel burning in the next chambers. How the system works:The waste is put into the equipment. After closing the chamber, an inner part opens, letting the waste fall on the grill in the gasification chamber. There the more volatile compounds are taken out first, and then the solid wastes, with greater CH chains begin to break down in an oxygen-poor environment. The gases formed pass through a gap between the grill and the wall to the next chamber below, the first combustion chamber. Here begins the burning, rising temperatures to 850ºC and supplying heat to the gasification process above. The next chamber, the mix, gives more oxygen and turbulence to the gas, promoting a morte complete burning through greater contact surface between waste gases and air. The post-combustion chamber has the function of closing the nitrogen cycle, the burning process, and retain small particules. This chamber works at temperatures between 1000ºC and 1200ºC. Models:
** Average amount for wastes with 2.600 kcal/kg. *** Steam at 16 bar pressure and 220ºC temperature. Main advantages of this process:
Gas emissionsBelow you see a table with values obteined by emission analysis in health care wastes, industrial wastes and airport wastes compared with the brazilian norm (CONAMA):
This process allows the energy recovering in three ways:
Gas cleaning systemsInitially Luftech developed a gas cleaning system for the waste incinerator, and with the success of this system started to develope cheap and efficient solutions for other gas-cleaning problems. Sewage Treatment FacilitiesTo meet brazilian needs in sewage tratment, Luftech offers a cheap, compact, efficient solution. A Luftech Compact SewageTreatment Facility uses three stages, anaerobic digestor, biological filter and aerobic digestion, to achieve 98%efficiency in cleaning sewage. This results can be further improved through a ionizer installed at the stations output. |
